We pride ourselves on giving you a memorable wilderness experience in the Kenora district of Northwestern Ontario, on Little Bear Lake, the gateway to the Woman River Chain of Lakes. Eight interconnected Canadian lakes. Fifty miles of waterways. Endless fishing opportunities.
Opened in 1946, Canada North Lodge has welcomed anglers and outdoorsmen to this remote chain for nearly eighty years, and is operated today by Jacob Bradford. Some of our guests are on their fifteenth, twentieth, even thirtieth trip. The reasons hold up: real wilderness, careful conservation, modern accommodations, and home-cooked food worth the drive.

Our spacious main lodge is the heart of camp, a large dining room, a roomy game room with a pool table and TV, an outside deck facing the lake, and a camp store stocked with the lures and gear that work on this water.
Cabins are walked to from the main lodge along an interconnected boardwalk system. Each is furnished with wall-to-wall carpeting, electric heat, four-piece baths, comfortable beds, linens, towels, and daily maid service.
The lawn and grounds are immaculate and well maintained, plenty of walking for those who want to walk off that big evening meal.
Portage Trips
Add ten remote portage lakes to your trip. The portages are short — a 1/4 mile or less — and boats and motors are already waiting on location, so all you bring is your gear for the day.
Trophy Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, and the Walleye fishing Canada North Lodge is known for, on secluded water you’ll often have all to yourself.

Quality, Not Volume
Our lake chain holds maybe 50 boats on the busiest day. We've never overbooked, and we won't start.
Conservation First
Slot limits on walleye, mandatory release on big pike, catch-and-release on certain portage lakes. The fish are still there because we put them back.
